Judge Jesse Cartrette
FLORENCE BORN AND RAISED
The Honorable Judge Jesse Cartrette was born and raised in Florence County South Carolina and attended school at South Florence High. He is a proud resident of Florence County. His family roots run deep with his family also still residing in the Pee Dee and choosing to operate their family owned businesses in the community.
Judge Cartrette graduated from the Charleston School of Law and ran his own Law Firm before becoming the Probate Judge of Florence County. Judge Cartrette is extremely involved in the community, lending his support to numerous organizations and civic groups.
ACCESSIBILITY
The People of Florence County have always been Judge Cartrette's top priority. He has never been one to back down when it comes to tackling tough issues and advocating for those who can't advocate for themselves. In his private practice, Judge Cartrette served hundreds of families as an attorney and guardian ad litem. He quickly became an expert in the field of Family and Probate Law.
Judge Cartrette also kept his campaign to promise to increase transparency and accessibility by working to get probate information online. This has helped families navigate the Probate and Guardianship proceedings. Florence County is now one of the only counties in the state with an online search for probate records. Judge Cartrette has gone above and beyond the call of duty in making his court more accessible. He has always been a huge advocate for complete transparency and will always be.

The elderly and disabled wind up in Probate Court at a highly disproportionate rate. As your Judge, I will continue to work and advocate for these groups. Along with the support of my staff, we will help our counties most vulnerable adults navigate the court system.
